Highlights

After leaving Edinburgh, we will head out towards South Queensferry and visit Midhope Castle. Wander around the grounds of this famous film set, used to film all outdoor scenes at Lallybroch.

Thereafter we will visit Hopetoun House (open April to September (Thurs-Mon)). The red drawing room featured as the Duke of Sandringham's house in Series One and other scenes featuring Claire and Mary Hawkins were filmed here. The West Lawn and Gardens featured in sword fights and a courtyard was the set for many Parisian street scenes.

Impressive Blackness Castle, dominating the Firth of Forth, will stir your imagination. Many of the most brutal scenes that took place between Jack Randall, Jamie and even Claire were filmed here.

Wander through the ancient cobbled street of Culross, filming location for Cranesmuir, the village near Castle Leoch.

If Hopetoun is closed, we will visit Doune Castle, which featured in the Game of Thrones and also as Castle Leoch in the Outlander series.
